You will find yourself surrounded by 165 acres of grasslands visited by kangaroos at dawn and dusk, woodlands where koalas doze and a tranquil spring where you may see Yellow Robins, King Parrots and Yellow-Bellied Gliders. Take a map and explore the carefully designed private walking tracks. There are many beautifully secluded spots to spend some time or enjoy a picnic.
Our main hall overlooks grasslands, where mobs of kangaroos come to graze against the backdrop of the Otway Ranges. Filled with light, warm and cosy in winter and beautifully cool in summer, the Hall includes the Dining Room, Guest Lounge and Library filled with field guides and other useful reference books. This is an ideal place to check up on sightings and catch up on some of the finer points of natural history.
The Great Ocean Ecolodge has five guest bedrooms which means your stay will be unique and personal. You can even book the whole Ecolodge exclusively for a very special experience.
Each guest bedroom is private and peaceful, furnished with a comfortable bed, crisp clean linen, and timeless antiques. The ensuite bathroom is equipped with fluffy towels and a delicious assortment of organic and biodegradable natural soaps and shampoos.
Our rooms Hollow and Burrow are located downstairs and come with a sundeck, overlooking the Otway Ranges and grasslands where kangaroos come to graze at dawn and dusk. These rooms are available as a King Double or Split King and can also accommodate up to two children’s beds if required.
Our room Drey is upstairs overlooking the Kitchen Gardens and part of the grasslands where kangaroos come to graze at dawn and dusk. This room is available as a King Double or Split King and can also accommodate up to one child’s bed if required.
Eyrie and Nest are both available as a Queen double and do not accommodate extra bedding for children. Eyrie is located upstairs and overlooks the Otway Ranges and grasslands where kangaroos come to graze at dusk and dawn. Nest is located downstairs overlooking the Kitchen Gardens.
